Wright exports
laminating technology from NZ to PacPrint
2009A lifetime in the
finishing business gave New Zealander Derek Wright the confidence and
capability to export his laminating machines all over the
world. Wright, director of Graphica
Technologies, says that his company is the sole manufacturer of
laminating machines in New Zealand. He says, “We’ve been making them
since 1992, from small desktop laminators to 1.6m wide machines. About
90 per cent of our exports go to the USA, but we also send them to
France and Germany, and Australia of
course.” The company showed its
Bondmaster GT range of machines at PacPrint. Wright described the
devices as designed from simple ideas, but not cheap and nasty. He
said, “We’ve learned how to make machines that last the distance. The
GT range is new to Australia. We’re finding business is slow but
steady.” He attributes a lot of the
company’s success to experience and adds, “Most of our team has been in
the industry for more than 20 years.”
